  • No rent or minimum consumption.
  • People may order drinks and food at the bar. The food is brought down, but guests should wait at the bar for drinks
  • There is an audio system we could use
  • People may sit at tables, but it's also possible to make a circle by putting some of the tables in the center away.
  • Closes at 10pm
  • No projector

Previously known as Nachbar, which has been our event location for many years.
Party room in the cellar

  • No rent or minimum consumption.
  • People may order drinks and food at the bar. For drinks, they should wait at the bar.
  • Plenty of space and comfortable couches
  • Gets pretty loud when many people speak at the same time
  • Rather expensive
  • Sometimes quickly booked out.
  • Has a projector!
  • Open until 11pm.

  • People may order drinks and food at the bar
  • Rather cramped, not a lot of space
  • Rather dark, hard to take pictures
  • Rather loud, there's a football table right outside the door and lots of noise from the bar gets through.
  • Supposedly has a beamer, but we've never used or seen it

Event location at Donaukanal (east of Urania). Hosts events such as open mic nights etc, apparently free of charge, just consumption. Has a bar and a sound system. The walls are made of glass, so people passing by may look inside. Check if there is access to toilets (Simon experienced problems with that!)!

Has a backroom, separated with a curtain. Location is often quite full and loud and the noise might be too much for our events. It's also not clear how well a chair circle could be made.

Similar to Cafe Votic (same owners). Back room separated with curtain, no rent or minimum consumption.

Vegan Asian restaurant with a party room in the cellar.
We've had mixed experiences with it, so we prefer other locations.
Recently they changed their closing time to 9pm which is too early for us!

  • Usually Tokyo Boom requires rent, but we've got a deal with the owner (Aren Sakata) to use it for free, since we're only using it for a couple of hours in the middle of the week.
  • Sufficient space and chairs (stools are available on the ground floor in the bag)
  • There is an audio system and a tv screen we could use
  • No projector
  • Guests order at the bar and wait there for drinks and food. It is not brought down!
  • The bar is sometimes very slow!
  • The room is cold, especially in the winter!
  • Sometimes there has been a moldy smell in the cellar
  • They close at 9pm, which is too early for our case.

Has been a great location for a while with plenty of space, however, they introduced a minimum consumption of 400€ or so, which we cannot afford.

Pickwick's

Owner asks us once a year if we wanna make events there. Conditions would be good (no rent / minimum consumption), but the rooms in the cellar are not clearly separated from the main area, and also it's quite cramped and an inconvenient room layout.
